Frequently Asked Questions
Which racket should I buy?
This is completely individual and depends on many factors, such as: what is your playing experience, what is your level, what is your play style, etc. Read more about how to choose a padel racket here. If you are still not sure, you can contact us and we will advise you which racket is best for you.
What does 12K, 18K,… carbon fiber mean?
All our rackets are made of carbon fiber (both the frame and the main contact plane), which is characterized by lightness, strength and durability. 3K/12K/18K,…, – this means that the contact surface consists of carbon fiber with 3,000/12,000/18,000 carbon fiber threads per square centimeter. The more threads, the more efficiently and quickly the carbon fiber reacts and pushes the ball back – stronger ball bounce – more power. The higher the carbon fiber density (higher the number), the higher the price.
Where are Sweet Spot rackets made?
Sweet Spot padel rackets are designed, created, tested, improved after testing, and brought to the final result in Lithuania. They are then made in China in experienced padel racket factories, the same as the rackets of many well-known world-class brands. Before reaching you, our rackets go through a double quality control: the first when leaving the manufacturer and the second when leaving the Sweet Spot warehouse.
Are the padel rackets equipped with overgrips?
Yes, all of our padel rackets come with an overgrip already applied, so they are ready for immediate use. The overgrip ensures a comfortable and secure hold, enhancing your control and feel during the game. You can also easily replace the overgrip as needed to maintain optimal performance.
How often should I replace the overgrip?
The frequency of changing your overgrip depends on how often you play and your personal preferences. As a general guideline, it’s recommended to replace the overgrip every 10-15 playing hours or when you notice it losing its tackiness or comfort. Regular replacement helps maintain a secure grip and optimal control during the game.
When should I replace my padel racket?
You should consider replacing your padel racket when you notice a significant drop in performance, such as loss of power, control, or a reduction in the sweet spot’s effectiveness. Visible damage, such as cracks or dents, is another clear sign it’s time for a replacement. Additionally, if you’ve been using the same racket for a long time and play regularly, the materials can lose their elasticity and durability over time, which affects your game. Generally, players replace their rackets every 1-2 years, depending on how often they play and the intensity of use.
What should I do if the paint on my padel racket cracks?
Cracked paint on your padel racket is usually nothing to worry about and won’t affect the performance of the racket. The paint is purely cosmetic, and minor cracks or chips can occur from regular play or contact with walls and surfaces. As long as there’s no structural damage to the racket, such as cracks in the frame, you can continue playing without any issues. However, it’s always a good idea to inspect your racket regularly to ensure it’s in good condition.
How do temperature changes affect my padel racket?
Extreme temperature changes can affect the performance and longevity of your padel racket. In very cold conditions, the materials of the racket can become stiffer, which may reduce its power and responsiveness. On the other hand, extreme heat can make the racket softer, potentially reducing control and durability. To keep your racket in top condition, avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or in extremely hot or cold environments for extended periods. Do not leave your racket in your car during extreme weather conditions, whether cold or hot. Proper storage in a padded racket cover can help protect it from temperature fluctuations.
